I didn’t know it then, but I experienced postpartum depression that lasted months after my son was born.
I felt so prepared for the birth of my son and labor, although that didn’t go as planned, and had never even thought about how my body and mind would change postpartum.
I was not only ill-equipped to deal with this period of my life but felt so much shame and guilt around my feelings that I didn’t know how to express them.
I sat in this state for months before I even shared my feelings with my husband.
It’s my purpose with this podcast to share my story with you to remove the stigma around asking for help as a mother and to let women know they are not alone, even if their experience doesn’t look “textbook”.
My Experience with Postpartum Depression
On the podcast, I’m sharing…
- What I wish I knew about postpartum emotions and support BEFORE giving birth.
- Why I felt so alone during my postpartum experience, despite having amazing support.
- How I grew as a woman while navigating motherhood for the first time.
